My thoughts on ...Yard Sales

I had a yard sale this weekend that was supposed to start at 7am. I was putting a few things out at 6:30a.m. and my first customer drove up. She spent about twenty dollars, which means that she bought a lot of my junk.

The thing about yard sales is that people basically want you to just give everything away. The "sale" part is a joke. I should have just put a sign in the yard that said "big pile of free junk. come sift through and take what you want". Actually, that would have been much easier than sitting out there and having people haggle over $2.

That was my first and last yard sale. I would rather donate my things to charity going forward.

the important thing is did you get rid of most of your "junk?" because the worst part about a yard sale is not selling anything and then having to take it all back inside...

Exactly how I feel about yard sales! We had one a couple of years ago with some neighbors. It is WAY too much work to organize and tag everything. And, it made me feel kind of weird watching strangers paw through my belongings. Now we just donate.
