Disaster List

Things that have gone wrong this month...

  • Baby Crib broken beyond repair...babies r us hated worse than Satan
  • Brand new Dell laptop...hard drive crashed..was replaced after the word "law suit" was liberally tossed around.
  • Air conditioner in truck....broken; back rear window in truck....broken; sunroof in truck...broken: word of the day lemon laws
  • new bed rails to convert full sized bed to queen sized bed....one of the rails was FUBAR
  • Second set of bed rails....one of the screws was three sizes too small...went to the local Napa auto parts store...got a replacement for free...maybe things are looking up....

there are several honorable mentions, but I think the list is long enough.

My Dog Day-Z

We have a really smart really sweet Border Collie. She has needed a bath for a few days now and it has been raining, so since we have to bathe her outside, she has just been stinky.

Today she decided to roll in poop. This is very unusual for her...completely out of character. She hasn't ever done this.

I really believe that she wanted a bath so badly, and she is smart enough to think it through that if she rolled in poop, that we would definitely give her a bath. She is clean now, and trotting around the house with a smile on her face.

I Hate Big Businesses...specifically Babies R Us!







The worst customer service experience of my life was delivered by the company Babies R Us. They absolutely DO NOT care about their customers. Let me share my experience.

I bought a baby crib and dresser from them online. Everything was delivered within a week. The dresser was fine and no assembly was required, so we had it on display in the nursery. I checked the crib and it was the correct crib, but it was in a huge box and required assembly. Since, we weren't finished with the nursery, we waited until last Sunday to put it together. When we took it out of the box, we discovered that it was severely damaged....this is where the nightmare customer service begins.


We call the online store and are told that since it had been over 30 days(their arbitrary return policy), they can't ship us another one. After talking to several people, someone suggests that we go to a local store to exchange it. So, we call a store, and they say that they can. They have the exact crib and they would put it aside for us. We drive Ninety miles to pick it up and when we get there, they do not have the right crib. Wasted trip! Still, they do not care and will not absorb the cost of shipping us a new one. They don't care that we have already paid $300 in shipping and wasted gas and time to come pick up something that they ruined in the first place.
Long story...made a "little" shorter...we returned both pieces. Since we were going to have to drive back to the store again, we just made the second trip to return the dresser. I knew that I would never be able to enjoy the furniture. I would always look at it and have a sour taste in my mouth.

I purchased a new crib this morning from a local baby store and I am so happy with it! It is super cute, the exact color that I wanted and the customer service was great. I am going to try my best to always support local businesses and I will continue to forever spread the word that babies r us is the worst company I have ever done business with. I immediately removed my baby registry from their website. I will never step foot in their store again!!
