Never Have It When I Need It :)

I went to the doctor today and passed a house that had toilets adorning each side of the driveway with fake graveside looking flowers coming out of the bowl. I never have my camera when I need it! I have to go back next Wednesday, so I am going to take pictures to post for people to see. These are pictures of what not to do, of course.

Everyone cross your fingers for me, because I have to go back to the doctor for extra tests....after my glucose test today, I may have gestational diabetes. I am hoping that is not the case....since the nurse tried to scare me to death by saying that I may have a ten pound undeveloped baby. I think the doctor may have chewed her up and spit her out for that comment considering my massive meltdown in the doctor's office.

Well, that's all for now. I will leave everyone with my husband's new found favorite phrase..."have a blessed day". :)

Heartburn

Heartburn is my new enemy. Other then getting huge, it is my biggest symptom of being pregnant.

No...that's really not okay

Today was my first day back at work after a week long vacation. I love vacations!Check Spelling

Anyway, three people told me today that I was getting fat. "Wow, you are getting fat girl". WTF! It is not acceptable to tell a pregnant woman that she is getting fat. People don't tell truly overweight people that they are fat. Same rules apply for pregnant people. It just isn't cool. It is not a compliment.

Some acceptable things to say....

Awwe....look how cute you are pregnant.

You are the cutest little pregnant person.

Your cute little pregnant belly....so cute....

....people need to learn to lie. You are not to be truthful with a pregnant person. Hormones are raging and you could seriously get hurt. If I had not been coming off of a vacation, who knows....

Rug No More

JR and I woke up this morning to a nightmare. Our little Boston Terrorist made nasty poopies EVERYWHERE in our living room. Then she brought it into our bathroom. Hello?!!?

She crapped all over our rug in the living room. JR almost threw up several times while attempting to clean it all up. The rug ended up on the side of the road, because nope, the baby will not crawl around on a pooped out rug and after we kept discovering new "spots", we just gave up.

Some sad fool came by and picked up the rug from the side of the road....boy are they in for a surprise.

If I ever have another dog..."if"...it will be a three pound chihuahua. Surely one of those can't poop out a wheel barrell full like Layla proved she could do.

Stew Beef

I cooked a new recipe recently that I thought I would share, because it was really tasty, easy to make, inexpensive and makes a lot of food.

2 1/2 lbs stew beef
2 cans cream of onion soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of mushroom with garlic soup

Season stew beef with salt and pepper. Place into a large casserole dish. Top with soup. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 3 hours at 350 degrees.

Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.

Yum!

Acura...the best auto company

So, I am the new spokesperson for Acura....not really, but I could be.

Yesterday, my car wouldn't start and the battery was so dead that it couldn't be jump started. Normally, that would send me into a frantic meltdown, but because Acura is so AWESOME...I actually had a very pleasant day. Let me share my experience.

1. Car wouldn't start...slight panic, due to the fact that the dealership is 80 miles away.
2. Called Acura...the lady said, "no problem, just call roadside assistance and they will tow your car to the dealership for free". I was really relieved, but also afraid that I was getting set up for the big dip into my pockets once it got there.
3. Tow guy, George, calls me to tell me that he is 15 minutes from my house.
4. George calls me to inform me that he was at my house (and George threw the Frisbee for my dog)
5. George calls me 1 1/2 hours later to inform me that he had just left my car at the dealership.
6. Dealership calls me an hour after that to let me know that my car was repaired and ready for pickup.
7. Dealership washed and vacuumed my car for me.
8. Charge for services....NOTHING.
9. Buying a car from Acura....PRICELESS

Baby Update

So, I am at the halfway point of pregnancy...here is the update...

1. My ten week run of all day morning sickness ended about three weeks ago...Yay!
2. We found out we are having a boy...they better not say "oh we made a mistake..."
3. I am starting to actually look pregnant. My husband pats my stomach in front of people while saying "boom, boom, boom"....fun times.
4. I have been able to feel the baby move for about three weeks now...that is really cool, but really weird at the same time.
5. We finally have a few items of baby gear at our house, which makes me laugh to myself every time I look at it....if you know us really well, you totally understand why I would find that funny.
6. And....for those few soles that actually read my blog....sorry, but I probably won't have anything to write about except baby stuff going forward....I am totally old and boring now, it's official.
7. Oh, and as long as the gender doesn't change, the baby's name is going to be Coy Blair Joyner. We went back and forth with middle names...George was an option, but I couldn't bare anyone teasing my child by calling him "Boy George".
