Baby Update

So, I am at the halfway point of pregnancy...here is the update...

1. My ten week run of all day morning sickness ended about three weeks ago...Yay!
2. We found out we are having a boy...they better not say "oh we made a mistake..."
3. I am starting to actually look pregnant. My husband pats my stomach in front of people while saying "boom, boom, boom"....fun times.
4. I have been able to feel the baby move for about three weeks now...that is really cool, but really weird at the same time.
5. We finally have a few items of baby gear at our house, which makes me laugh to myself every time I look at it....if you know us really well, you totally understand why I would find that funny.
6. And....for those few soles that actually read my blog....sorry, but I probably won't have anything to write about except baby stuff going forward....I am totally old and boring now, it's official.
7. Oh, and as long as the gender doesn't change, the baby's name is going to be Coy Blair Joyner. We went back and forth with middle names...George was an option, but I couldn't bare anyone teasing my child by calling him "Boy George".

My thoughts on ...Yard Sales

I had a yard sale this weekend that was supposed to start at 7am. I was putting a few things out at 6:30a.m. and my first customer drove up. She spent about twenty dollars, which means that she bought a lot of my junk.

The thing about yard sales is that people basically want you to just give everything away. The "sale" part is a joke. I should have just put a sign in the yard that said "big pile of free junk. come sift through and take what you want". Actually, that would have been much easier than sitting out there and having people haggle over $2.

That was my first and last yard sale. I would rather donate my things to charity going forward.

Organic Milk, No Thanks!

Three great reasons why I will never buy organic milk...

1. My sister told me that she bought some that had an expiration date a month out and poured it on her cereal and it was rotten.

2. My mother told me that it smells like dog poop.

3. My sister just told me that she tried it again, and she drank it with jelly toast and it "sizzled" in her mouth.

*I will continue to drink my hormone/steroid infused Walmart brand skim milk.

First Picture

I had my first ultrasound today and got to see our little butter bean baby. It was really awesome. I didn't have any overwhelming emotional teary eyed moment, but I did have a moment. My first thought when I saw the baby was "Wow, there really is a baby in there". I guess I've been in denial or something. Anyway, I went and bought some maternity clothes to celebrate.

Also, JR is convinced that it is a girl and keeps giving the baby a voice, which is a very animated girly voice. One of his favorite things to say when imitating the baby is..."I'm sixteen cells".

Snow Day Joke

I woke up this morning and saw 1/8 of an inch of snow on the ground. It looked like frost actually, so there was no question that I would be at work on time...no delays.

But, everyone started calling me, freaking out...Do we have to be at work today? Well the sun is out and the frost...I mean snow...is already melting, I think we will be at work today. It turned out that we had an hour delay in opening the bank, which was okay...unnecessary, but okay.

Then, I went downtown for lunch. I couldn't wait to get some soup from my favorite restaurant. To my disappointment, they were closed...along with the rest of the town. ARRRGGGHHH!!!! What's up with everyone freaking out over a snowflake?

We Will Rock You

I know one commercial that I hope I don't see during the Superbowl on Sunday. It's the one promoting all of Walmart's cheap prices on every item you need for the perfect Superbowl party. It has this really dorky family with each member of the family singing a line from Queen's hit song We Will Rock You. Every time that I see it, I feel embarrassed. It is just super creepy and embarrassing...I really don't like it.

Yes..."IT" Happens

I really believed that I would go through life without it happening to me. I've had several near misses, which gave me the false belief that I was just a lucky person.

Today, proved all of this to be wrong. A bird pooped on my head. Never have I wanted to kill one of God's little creations more.

I was having such a cute hair day today, too. I had taken extra time styling my hair, and then nature decided to play a little practical joke on me.

...I hope one of my cats has a little snack later.
