Jedi Mind Tricks

For those of you who don't know, my husband is super obsessed with his body image, working out, and eating to perfection. Also, he takes ambien some nights to help him sleep and one of the side effects is sleep walking and eating which he refers to as "zombie eating".

After eating perfectly for several days in a row, he would have a zombie eating moment and wake up the next morning to find the evidence of it and he would be devastated that he had ruined his diet. Oh the drama in my house!

So, to remedy the midnight zombie eating sessions, he decided to put locks on the refrigerator and cabinets and give me the key to hide so that he couldn't get to any food. Also, he has posted signs on the refrigerator that say "Do Not Eat" and "No Food Fatty".

Well....last night, we were in bed and I was having trouble sleeping and he asked me for the key, because he said he needed to get some water. I asked him if he was serious, because I didn't want to give him the key if he was in his zombie state. He sounded in his right mind, so I handed over the key. I followed him into the kitchen and he was in the cabinets eating forbidden food.

I asked him, do you realize you are eating? Are you going to be mad tomorrow? He assured me in a very right minded, non zombie sounding voice that all was well. So, I went back to bed, a little concerned, but whatever. Then, when he came to bed, he says to me..."you can't give me the key....I just jedi mind tricked you....you can't listen to me when I am on sleepy meds". He was unaware of any of this until this morning when I told him the story.

.......I've been Jedi Mind Tricked..............

Problem Solved

The plumber came out and fixed our drain issue and more importantly the sewer gas issue.

I wonder what type of long term health problems I will have after breathing in toxic gas for who knows how long?

On a different note, I am super excited to watch Harry Potter when it comes out in a couple of weeks. And...I just found out that Tim Burton is making Alice In Wonderland...another one that I will be excited to watch. I love escaping from reality!

Old Houses Rock!

For the past couple of weeks, we have had a slow draining sink in our bathroom. After many efforts of using Drano and industrial strength acid and other harmful/toxic non-earth friendly products that didn't cure the problem, we decided to call a plumber.

As soon as he walked in our house, he identified that "yep, you guys definitely have a problem....I smell sewer gas".

Oh, that's so great, considering that I have always "noticed a smell" in our house that I have tried every trick I could think of to eliminate. So, apparently, this "smell" has a source...called the freaking SEWER!

Whatever! I am so pregnant, uncomfortable, grouchy, sick of people asking me if I am getting fat(dumb A's), and now I know that I have been inhaling sewer gas for the past three years or so. I am so over it all!

I Am So Excited

I am so excited about Trueblood Season 2 that starts this Sunday night on HBO! It is the only show that I actually anticipate watching. The only other show that I watch is The Bachelor/Bachelorette...and that is because my husband forces me to watch it.

But, Trueblood is awesome...and when something is awesome(like the George Foreman grill), I like to share that with everyone that I know.

All Clear

Results are in......I do not have gestational diabetes.

But.....I do still have heartburn.

...........have a blessed day!

A Good Day

I made a delicious pizza today with pita bread, tomatoes, mozzarella and prosciutto. It was really fresh tasting and yummy.

Then, I caught Layla having a very candid moment looking super cute.

Today was pretty uneventful but stress free. I love days like that.

Never Have It When I Need It :)

I went to the doctor today and passed a house that had toilets adorning each side of the driveway with fake graveside looking flowers coming out of the bowl. I never have my camera when I need it! I have to go back next Wednesday, so I am going to take pictures to post for people to see. These are pictures of what not to do, of course.

Everyone cross your fingers for me, because I have to go back to the doctor for extra tests....after my glucose test today, I may have gestational diabetes. I am hoping that is not the case....since the nurse tried to scare me to death by saying that I may have a ten pound undeveloped baby. I think the doctor may have chewed her up and spit her out for that comment considering my massive meltdown in the doctor's office.

Well, that's all for now. I will leave everyone with my husband's new found favorite phrase..."have a blessed day". :)
