We Will Rock You

I know one commercial that I hope I don't see during the Superbowl on Sunday. It's the one promoting all of Walmart's cheap prices on every item you need for the perfect Superbowl party. It has this really dorky family with each member of the family singing a line from Queen's hit song We Will Rock You. Every time that I see it, I feel embarrassed. It is just super creepy and embarrassing...I really don't like it.

Yes..."IT" Happens

I really believed that I would go through life without it happening to me. I've had several near misses, which gave me the false belief that I was just a lucky person.

Today, proved all of this to be wrong. A bird pooped on my head. Never have I wanted to kill one of God's little creations more.

I was having such a cute hair day today, too. I had taken extra time styling my hair, and then nature decided to play a little practical joke on me.

...I hope one of my cats has a little snack later.

First Craving

As everyone reading this probably knows by now, JR and I are expecting our first baby in September. For the most part, things are business as usual, but I have started having some issues with eating. This started a couple of days ago and has gotten progressively worse.

For me, this so called "cravings" thing, is actually just a process of elimination. I run through several different foods in my mind and end up eating the one thing that doesn't make me gag at the thought of it.

Last night, I bought a bunch of cereal and pop tarts and macaroni and cheese(Kraft). I can tell this is going to be a sad sad time in the food department. Apparently, I am going to be eating out of a box for nine months. Also, my pop tarts and cereal are presently removed from the list, since the thought of them are making me gag. Also, I am glad that I only bought two boxes of mac and cheese, because now that I just ate it for lunch, I think it is off of the list too.

.....dreaming of the days when food was enjoyable.

Captured

We captured our cheating cat. I saw her running in the back yard towards the neighbor's house. She saw me and I think I saw her duck and try to act like she didn't see me. But, she reluctantly came to the house when I called her. She went over to her food bowl and turned her nose up, rolled her eyes, and walked away.

She is so sweet.

Our cat is cheating on us

JR and I have two cats. One named grey-C(grey cat) and the other named baby skittles(or her nickname "fatty"). Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed that baby skittles has been showing up less and less, which is VERY rare, since she is grossly obese and hardly ever misses a meal. Also, she hasn't been wobbling around the house and fussing at us everyday.

Since she has made a few short appearances and still lives up to her nickname(obviously finding her meals elsewhere), I have decided that she is living with someone else. That cat never has liked us and she has finally ran away from home and adopted a new family. I am so bitter about it. I have been thinking back at our relationship over the past couple of years and every time that JR or I tried to pet her, she would make a face and fuss. All of our neighbors would brag about how sweet she was and how she LOVED for them to pet her. She never let us pet her. She didn't like her family and went out in search of a better one. I feel so betrayed.

Anyway, Grey-C loves us and she growls at strangers walking down the street.....a truly loyal cat. But, I have a feeling that baby skittles will be back once she gets tired of what her new family is serving for dinner.

I just realized

I just realized that I didn't make a new year's resolution for 2009. My resolution for 2008 was to be more thoughtful towards people's special days by sending a card or some other type of recognition. It is something that I will continue to do and hopefully get better at, so maybe I will just keep the same resolution for 2009 and build on my skills, add more people to the birthday calendar, and be more aware of what is going on in other people's lives.

While writing this, I just came up with my "real" resolution for 2009. I am going to make every effort to cook all of our meals at home and try at least one new recipe every week. I feel so much better now.

....I love and am truly inspired by people who pay attention to detail and really strive to make things special.
